CLAY – Another Clay-Chalkville skill player has attracted a college scholarship offer.
The latest offer to land on the Cougars’ campus comes courtesy of Tusculum College, a private college in Tusculum, Tenn. The Pioneers’ latest target is wide receiver Dez Williams.
The shifty Cougar wideout served as a versatile weapon for head coach Jerry Hood this season. Offensively, Williams finished 2015 with 27 receptions for 443 yards and five touchdowns. He also made a mark on special teams, averaging 23.2 yards per kickoff return. Williams also brought back five punts for an average return of seven yards.
As a transfer student from Pinson Valley, Williams only spent one year at Clay-Chalkville and helped the Cougars to a 14-1 season that ended in the Class 6A Super 7 championship game in Tuscaloosa.
Tusculum College competes in Division II’s South Atlantic Conference.
