From staff reports
A routine traffic stop by a Jefferson County Deputy resulted in the arrest of two teens early Monday afternoon.
Chief Deputy Randy Christian reported that just before 2 p.m., two male occupants fled the scene after being pulled over at 16th Ct. NW and 1st St. in Birmingham. Following a short foot chase, both subjects were apprehended and taken into custody.
Authorities have determined that the automobile that the teens were driving had been stolen Sunday evening.
Both 16-year-old juveniles were taken to be questioned by detectives.
