TRUSSVILLE – Hewitt-Trussville’s star linebacker-turned-fullback has decided to take a different path to college.
Bailey McElwain decided not to sign with Stanford at yesterday’s National Signing Day ceremony at Hewitt-Trussville High School. He was honored alongside his teammates at the Wednesday event, where he wore a Stanford hat.

McElwain, who has been recruited by the Cardinal as a fullback despite his success as a linebacker for the Huskies, still plans on inking with Stanford as a Class of 2017 member next year.
As an unsigned prospect, McElwain’s recruitment is now officially back open. However, he seems to be committed to being a Stanford Cardinal.
