CLAY — Clay-Chalkville came up a little short on senior night, falling to Oak Mountain by a count of 52-45.
Seniors Tyler Pride, Ahkari Thompson, Eddie Cole and Josh Moore were all honored on Friday night.
The Eagles took a 43-41 lead with six minutes remaining and never trailed again.Will Stephenson gave the visitors that edge with a 3-point make in the closing minutes. Stephenson’s make led to another the next time down the floor.
After trailing throughout the first half, Clay-Chalkville took its first lead in the third quarter thanks to a 10-1 run. However, Oak Mountain constructed an 8-0 run of its own to claim a two-point advantage at the start of the final frame.
Jalen Jordan led the Cougars with 13 points, followed by Keithan Parker, who finished the night with eight points. Nico Collins and Anthony Holmes both added six of their own.
For Oak Mountain, Yeadon Patrick delivered with a team-high 14 points. Payton Youngblood came through with ten points and Wyatt Armstrong added another nine to the visitor’s efforts.
