JEFFERSON COUNTY – Just before noon today deputies responded to a report of a person with a weapon in the parking lot off the 100 block of Haversham Drive. It was reported that there was a man and a woman arguing in the parking lot.
According to a report from Jefferson County Chief Deputy Randy Christian, the man was armed with a handgun and the woman was armed with a knife. It was also reported that the woman had stabbed the man and left in a car while the man fled on foot.
Deputies located the woman in her vehicle a short distance away, and the man was later located at an area hospital where he was being treated for a non-life threatening injury.
Information on the scene is that the man and woman were arguing when he began striking her with a pistol. She stabbed him and fled. Both people are currently being questioned by detectives.
