JEFFERSON COUNTY – On Sunday, Feb. 17, Birmingham police responded to a call of an incident that occurred in the 200 block of 4th Terrace North. Reports were of a non-responsive male victim.
According to Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards, the victim, 56-year-old Carl Hannah, was transported to UAB hospital after being found unresponsive by police. Detectives were, however, able to get a statement from the victim at the hospital and he stated that he was assaulted by two suspects.
On Thursday, March 10, Hannah died from the injuries he suffered, and the Coroner’s office has classified his death as a homicide.
