From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
In separate Spring Break incidents, two men have died. One from a fall from a parking garage and the death of the other is undetermined.
Panama City Beach police told the Northwest Florida News that Tyler Douglas Gilmore, 20, of Terre Haute, Indiana, was found dead at around 1 a.m. Sunday on the north side of the Shores of Panama parking garage at 9900 S. Thomas Drive. Police said Gilmore died after falling off the structure. The garage is more than 10 levels tall and PCBPD said it could not determine the height at which Gilmore fell.
In a separate incident, it is not known how a college football player from Texas died, though some media outlets reported that he is thought to have died from alcohol poisoning. The coroner said those reports are jumping to conclusions.
Police and the Baldwin County Coroner’s Office confirm a 21-year-old man was found unresponsive and in cardiac arrest at the scene. He was pronounced dead at South Baldwin Regional medical Center in Foley at 11:41 p.m., according to Local 15TV.
There is “no reason to believe it was alcohol poisoning” at this time, according to Baldwin County Coroner Stanley Vinson, who also said “it would be a rush to judgement” to say the man died from alcohol poisoning.
