One Birmingham Post Office is hosting a passport fair on April 2 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Passports are required for U.S. citizens when re-entering the United States by air. Citizens are also required to show a passport book, card or other U.S. approved travel documents when entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports.
Applicants must bring proof of citizenship and identity, and a recent 2×2 color photograph to be eligible to apply for a passport. Each adult passport application should be accompanied by a check or money order for $110 for adults or $80 for children under 16, made payable to the U.S. Department of State and a $25 acceptance fee made payable to USPS.
Expedited processing is available for $60 in addition to the aforementioned fees.
