As Trussville continues to move forward with downtown revitalization efforts, the momentum has already resulted in the attraction of new business.
One of Birmingham’s newest and most innovative real estate companies, BRIK Realty, will be opening an office in the former location of Total Printing at 192 Main Street in early May.
With a vision for a more customer-centric and technologically advanced way to serve Birmingham’s homebuyers and sellers, Gusty Gulas, a 10-year veteran in the real estate business, founded Brik Realty 16 months ago in downtown Birmingham. Impressed with the vision and direction of Trussville, and the downtown revitalization program, Gulas felt that Trussville would be the perfect site to expand his business.
“We have some of the top young agents in the Trussville market, and with the growth that the eastern area is having, along with the revitalization coming for downtown Trussville, it just made a lot of sense,” Gulas said.
Gulas, who is both owner and broker for the company, has quite a track record in Birmingham real estate. Voted Best Realtor by Birmingham magazine in 2014, the team Gulas leads sold more than 400 homes in the two years prior to founding Brik Realty, and in 2014 alone, the team had sales of $43 million.
The same principles that have allowed Gulas and his team to be so successful is what customers will find when they visit the new Trussville location.
“We wanted to open a common sense, agent-friendly brokerage,” said Gulas.
Brik Realty focuses on creating a positive experience for home buyers and sellers specifically by utilizing technology, including social, and mobile media, to create a streamlined sales process.
“We believe that we bring a fresh approach to marketing,” Gulas said. “We use the latest technology, and as new technology arises, we are able to quickly make a decision as to will it positively affect our agents and clients. So we are always looking for the best opportunity to get homes sold for the most money and for the least amount of time on the market.”
According to Director of Business Operations Catherine Singletary, who has been busy overseeing the construction and buildout of the new office, there will be 14 realtors working out of the Trussville office with plans to increase that number.
Singletary says progress on construction is moving along as planned and the early May opening date will likely happen.
“We are using Bob Whitley Construction, a company I have used for years in both my professional life as well as my personal life,” said Singletary. “We are using Capital Heating and Air for the HVAC work, and Acion Electic as our electrical contractor, and they live in Trussville.”
Like Gulas, Singletary says BRIK is very excited about opening an office in Trussville and is confident it will be a winning situation for both their business and for the city.
“We are so excited to have an office in Trussville and to be another small business coming in. We love the downtown area and we love being in a community that is strong like Trussville. We already sell a ton of houses in that area, so just getting to become a part of the Trussville landscape is going to be awesome.”
No phone number is available yet for the office, but agents who will be working out of the new Trussville office include: Josh Vernon, Chris Maze, Jamey Reynolds, Christy McDonald, Jeremy Miller, Allen Kennemur, Kevin Sargent, Mercy Lozinski, Chase Smith, Shannon Wilks, Sandy Mills, Lauren Heymann, Allyson Pelkey and Josh Hudson.
