Jerrold William Ingram, age 62, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
He was born to Huey and Jean Ingram on October 27, 1953. Jerrold was raised in Cordova, AL where he graduated from Cordova High School. He went on to serve in the Military beginning with the U.S. Army and subsequently enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1972. He was honorably discharged in April of 1984. While serving he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement, National Defense Service Medal, Battle “E” Award, and multiple Good Conduct Awards.
Jerrold was employed by Nucor (formally known as Birmingham Steel) for over 25 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his dogs, especially his beloved Annabelle who predeceased him. Jerrold was a history buff and often participated in Civil War re-enactments and enjoyed taking part in shooting competitions.
Jerrold was predeceased by his parents and his brother, John.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jane Schober Ingram; children, Dana Lindsey (Chris), Josh (Brenda), Alex (Tiffany), and Brett Bolton; grandchildren: Ashley Grace (Brian), Austin Lindsey, Clay Lindsey, Matthew Benefield, Tyler Benefield and Caden Shepherd; great grandchildren: Adam Grace and Ethan Grace; he is also survived by his, brother, James of Tuscaloosa; sisters, Nancy Ingram of Sumiton and Mary Ann Tucker of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville on Monday, April 11th from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with funeral at 10:00 a.m., Reverend Chris Lindsay Officiating. A private interment will take place at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
