From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE –Tuesday’s run-off election will determine a few remaining posts for both the Democrats and Republicans in local and state races.
Some Trussville Republicans will only have one race, a state board of education seat, to decide and Democrats, may see only a couple races. Others in The Tribune coverage area may also have a Jefferson County board of education seat on their ballot.
Arguably, there won’t be the excitement of a presidential primary as those races were decided in the first round.
One of the more interesting aspects of Tuesday’s run-off will be watching to see how many local Republican voters will vote in the Democrat run-off to have a voice in judicial races the county treasurer post that they were shut out of in the first election.
While Republican rules do not permit a someone who voted Democrat to swap ballots for the run-off, Democrat rules do allow Republican to cross over for the Democrat run-off.
The voter guide linked below provides ballots for both parties, as well as candidate profiles. There is also helpful information on polling locations, voter ID requirements, verifying registration and reporting problems at the poll.
