TRUSSVILLE – UAB Head Baseball Coach Brian Shoop was the featured speaker at The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) monthly luncheon on April 21 at the Trussville Civic Center.
The luncheon was sponsored by Prestige Alarm.
Coach Shoop said it was a privilege to have Trussville alumnus Carter Pharis on his team this year. Carter, he said, is contributing to the team as a freshman starter and should make the all-freshman team. Another local player, Tyler Tolbert, will join the team next year.
Coaching baseball, Coach Shoop said, has its challenges. He told the group he deals with trials and failure through prayer and God’s Word. Quoting James 1:2, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds…,” he said failure is the best teacher.
