BIRMINGHAM —On Friday, around 7:40 p.m, officers from the West Precinct responded to the 6200 block of Handy Avenue on two people shot, according to a statement by Sergeant Bryan Shelton.
Upon arrival, officers observed the victim lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body and a second person who had also been shot.
The victim was treated at the scene and transported to UAB hospital where he later died from his injuries. That victim has been identified as 35-year-old Ronald Billingsly of Birmingham.
