HOOVER –After completing the delayed Game 1 with 18-2 win over Hoover, Hewitt-Trussville took Game 2 in thrilling fashion to complete the sweep.
The Huskies had a two run lead over the Bucs going into the seventh and final inning, but a sacrifice fly tied the game at 7-7 and sent the game into extra innings.
Hoover loaded the bases in the eighth inning, but the Huskies worked their way out and didn’t give up a run.
In the bottom of the eighth, Hewitt-Trussville loaded the bases and Jameson Stennis delivered a walk-off grand slam for the 11-7 victory.
Hewitt-Trussville advances to the second round where they will face Oak Mountain.
