CENTER POINT — Center Point Fire Department received a call around 12:30 p.m. that a Birmingham Fire and Rescue vehicle had been involved in an accident.
The accident occurred at 17th Avenue North and Center Point Parkway, as the rescue vehicle was transporting the victim of a shooting to the hospital.
The original patients, driver of the EMS vehicle and the other driver involved were all transported to area hospitals for treatment. The victim in the shooting had life-threatening injuries, and others involved in the accident had non-life threatening injuries, according to Battalion Chief Gene Coleman with Center Point Fire.
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the shooting, as it happened outside of the Center Point jurisdiction.
