    If they tried to save them, why did rescue recover the bodies? Seems odd to me.

    Keyword you left out, unsuccessfully. Have you been in the river after rain like we have had lately? The current can take you away in no time or make it very hard to get to someone. How about, show a little compassion for this family? You would want the same if it was you.

    Other articles state the men looked for the girls and could not locate them in the current. I’m sure that’s what they are referring to as “save”. It took the rescue team a while to locate them as well, according to the same article. It’s a terrible accident.
