TRUSSVILLE — The Alabama Department of Transportation is continue work improving the I459 interchange at Alabama 7 (U.S. 11) in Trussville.
Weather permitting, the project will continue Sunday, May 22, and the project will continue through Wednesday, May 25.
Sunday asphalt paving will begin on the northbound off ramp to U.S. 11 near Trussville. Monday asphalt paving will begin on the northbound on ramp to I459 to U.S. 11. Tuesday asphalt paving will begin on the southbound off ramp to U.S. 11, and Wednesday asphalt paving will begin on the southbound on ramp to U.S. 11.
Paving is scheduled to take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, and the ramps will be closed during this scheduled time.
This will complete all of the asphalt paving for the project. There will be a two week curing period before all of the permanent striping on the aforementioned ramps can be completed.
The $4.232 million interchange improvement project will include shoulder excavation and asphalt paving for the widening on existing ramps, as well as drainage improvements, asphalt milling and resurfacing of approximately half a mile of U.S. 11, with planned striping and signalization improvements.
