PINSON — The Pinson Valley High School and Rudd Middle School Bands will be hosting their annual Band Together 5K and color run on Saturday, May 21 at 8 a.m. Band Together on site registration begins at Triangle Park at 7 a.m. The 5k begins at at 8 a.m., followed by a color run at 9 a.m.
An awards ceremony for the 5K will take place at 9:30 a.m. Runners can take home prizes in top male and female overall or top three in one of five age brackets. Participants have the chance to win gift cards to Old Navy, Oil Express and Regal Cinemas.
The fun run will feature two color stations, one at the beginning and one at the end of the mile. Participants will be able to show off their one-mile shirt full of bright, washable colors at the end.
Registration is currently open, however, registration rates go up after May 14. All proceeds will benefit the Pinson Valley High School and Rudd Middle School band programs. 5K registration is until May 14, and color run registration is through May 14.
All teacher groups, schools and track or cross-country organizations in the area are encouraged to attend. The team with the largest amount of members will win an extra prize.
Race packets can be picked up from the Trak Shak in Homewood on May 20 from 3-6 p.m., or the day of the race at Triangle Park.
