BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department is conducting an investigation after a homicide occurred on Friday.
The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of Alameda Court.
Samdrekus Eugene Bester, 33, has been arrested for the shooting death of Caudero Roseman. Bester was found at an area motel. He is currently charged with murder and is being held in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
Officers were called to the above location on reports of a person shot. Upon arrival officers found the victim was taken by private vehicle to Princeton Hospital, and was later transferred to UAB Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Detectives learned the victim was in a verbal altercation with another male prior to the shooting. Witnesses said the male shot the victim multiple times and then fled the scene.
“Unfortunately, these two men could not solve their differences without involving violence,” said Lt. Sean Edwards. “So sad.”
The investigation is ongoing and the victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
