CENTER POINT — Around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jefferson County Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 400 block of 13th Terrace NW in Center Point.
It was reported that two males were seen breaking into the home at the above address, leaving with electronics, shoes and other items. The suspects fled the scene in a white Mitsubishi Gallant.
Deputies in the area received descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle, and a deputy spotted the car at Parkway East and Red Lane Road. When the car was stopped, both suspects fled on foot.
Other deputies arrived from the Birmingham Police Department to assist, and both victims were subsequently captured, and the stolen property was returned to the victim.
The suspects have been identified as Jamarcus Keonte McKinney, 21, and Dadarrius Keywond Heywood, 21, both of Bessemer. Both men were charged with burglary in the third degree, theft of property in the second degree, possession of burglary tools, attempting to elude and resisting arrest.
Both are in the Jefferson County Jail pending a $19,000 bond each.
