TRUSSVILLE –The man who died when his vehicle left Smith Sims Road in Trussville and crashed last Thursday night has now been identified.
Authorities said the victim in the fatal crash is Jimmie Lee, a 73-year-old man from Moody.
According to Chief Russell Ledbetter with the Trussville Fire Department, the accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday and it wasn’t discovered until 6:30 a.m. on Friday.
Ledbetter said Lee was ejected from the car and pronounced dead on the scene, and his wife, in her mid-60s, had to be extracted from the vehicle. She was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries, but the extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.
The Trussville Police Department is continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
