TRUSSVILLE – Lifelong Trussville resident Tommy Brewer is running for place 3 on the Trussville City Council.
Brewer said he wants to improve recreation programs, maintain a sound budget and meet the needs of the public “without losing the hometown feel that drew everyone here in the first place” with good schools, programs and business opportunities. He also said he hopes to improve infrastructure.
“I present myself as a proud product of Trussville from attending/graduating their schools (1 of 4 generations of graduates), participating in many of the recreation programs from 8 years old, to coaching, being on the Park and Recreation Board and being elected to Chairman to becoming elected to the City Council over the Board,” Brewer said.
Brewer has spent more than 50 years of his career in Trussville, working as a sack boy for Norrell’s Grocery, working at Western Supermarket, Barden’s and Western Auto. Brewer joined the TRUSS Co. and stayed there for nearly 30 years before buying the TRU SIGN division in 2008, where he serves the signage needs of the city, county, school systems and recreation groups.
“I believe this close association/ history gives me a unique approach to hearing the needs of the people and working with them to conservatively reach their goals,” Brewer said
