TRUSSVILLE – The Trussville Board of Education approved two assistant principals for Paine Elementary School during Thursday’s meeting.
Donna Brumlow and Catherine Finkley will be added to the administrative team.
“I am excited for each to begin her administrative career immediately at Paine Elementary by assisting our teachers in moving students forward in achievement,” Dr. Evans, principal of Paine said.
Brumlow currently serves as the TCS Math Specialist. She has an educational specialist degree in leadership, two master’s degrees and a bachelor’s degree, all from Samford University. Brumlow has been with TCS since August of 2003, and has serviced as a district math coach, K-2 Math Coach and second grade teacher in that time. She has 24 total years of elementary teaching and math coach experience.
Finkley is a current Paine Elementary School teacher, and will be an assistant principal for Paine effective August 1, 2016. She has two master’s degrees, one in early childhood/elementary education, and one in instructional leadership, also from Samford University. Additionally she has a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems. Finkley has served as a second grade teacher at Paine for four years.
“I want to thank everyone who expressed an interest in our two assistant principal roles at Paine Elementary School,” Evans said. “We had a high internal interest in the jobs and tremendous candidates that interviewed. The candidates selected have documentation of academic achievement for their students, and share my vision of ensuring safety/security for children and advancing all students upward in academic achievement.”
Dr. Pattie Neill said she and the administrative team believe both candidates are a perfect fit for Paine Elementary.
“They will continue to be outstanding assets to the school,” Neill said. “We had interviews with incredibly talented teachers, and promoting from within is a symbol of our strength and expertise in Trussville City Schools.”
