CENTER POINT –According to Sergeant Jack Self of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, at about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, deputies were called to Center Point High School at 1000 Eagle Drive to investigate a burglary of the field house at the football field. It was reported that someone had broken into the field house and the school between 9:30 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. The school and other buildings on campus were searched for suspects, but none were found.
At the field house, deputies observed a damaged door that had been pried open and two damaged vending machines inside. A further check of the property revealed that the main school building had been broken into and several classrooms and offices had been vandalized. Glass was broken out of the doors to the offices and classrooms.
Video surveillance cameras were working during the burglary. Detectives will review the surveillance footage for identification of suspects.
