MONTGOMERY– HTHS graduate Derek Trotter has joined Butler Snow in Montgomery as a government relations advisor. He will be a part of the regulatory and government relations team.
“Derek’s background in government relations is impressive,” Don Clark Jr., chairman of Butler Snow, said. “He understands Alabama’s government. His experience will greatly benefit our team and our clients in Alabama.”
Trotter has previously served as director of legislative affairs for the office of Alabama Governor Robert Bentley. His duties included representing the governor before the Alabama legislature, building and maintaining relationships with legislative leaders , managing and implementing strategies to pass key items on the governor’s legislative agenda and advising the governor’s 22-member cabinet.
Trotter has also worked for Alabama State Senate President Pro Tempore Del Marsh and he served with the Bradley Byrne for Governor campaign.
Trotter has a bachelor of the arts in public relations from Auburn University.
