BLOUNT COUNTY –A 16-year-old girl died on Friday from injuries she received in a crash in Blount County on Tuesday, State Troopers said.
The single-vehicle crash at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, claimed the life of an Oneonta teenager and injured one other.
The 16-year-old was seriously injured when the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt she was driving left the roadway on Ollie Morton Road and overturned. The teen, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.
She was airlifted to UAB Hospital where she died Friday. A second teen was also injured and transported to UAB hospital. The crash occurred five miles east of Oneonta.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
