TRUSSVILLE –Noah Igbinoghene, Hewitt-Trussville’s speedy wide receiver, committed to Auburn Thursday afternoon. The highly regarded recruit chose the Tigers over Notre Dame, Duke and Ole Miss.
The 6-feet, 190-pound Igbinoghene hauled 55 passes for 712 yards and eight touchdowns this season for Josh Floyd’s Huskies. He also rushed for 751 and 10 touchdowns on 94 carries.
Floyd, a Gus Malzahn protege, runs a similar offense to Auburn’s, which means Igbinoghene will be very familiar with the offensive system on the Plain. That definitely played a part in his decision, Igbinoghene said.
“I went down there and it just felt like home,” he said Thursday. “It’s best for my family, because they can come and see me play every game.”
Igbinoghene also excels in track, where he has earned All-American honors and is the son of two former Olympians. He has not yet met with the track and field staff, but he said he will on his official visit to Auburn, which he said will be sometime in January.
Scout rates Igbinoghene as a 4-star receiver and listed him as the number 33 receiver in the country and the third best athlete in Alabama. Rivals and 247 Sports listed him as a 3-star player.
Igbinoghene also played some running back and some wildcat quarterback. He thinks he’ll start out at wide receiver at Auburn, but the versatility he displayed as a runner this past season could mean a variety of uses for the talented Husky senior.

I’ve enjoyed watching Noah play his senior year at Hewitt. Good luck, Noah, at Auburn.
