SHELBY COUNTY – Two are dead after a two-vehicle crash around 4:10 a.m. Friday morning.
Kizzy D. Haynes, 39 of Maylene was killed when the 2005 Mercedes E320 she was driving collided head-on with a 2008 KIA Sedona driven by Larry Albert Hampton, 51, of Calera.
Both drivers were pronounced dead on the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Haynes was driving the wrong way on I65 at the time of the crash in the city of Calera.
State Troopers are continuing to investigate.
