GATLINBURG, TENN. –The entire town of Gatlinburg is under a mandatory evacuation on Monday night due to encroaching wildfires.

The order was issued Monday evening by the City of Gatlinburg officials instructing residents and visitors in and around the town to move to safety.
Also being evacuated are parts of Pigeon Forge, areas along the Spur and Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Media reports say the flames are moving toward the town as thousands flee.
