TRUSSVILLE –According to multiple sources, Trussville City Schools will soon have a new athletic director, pending board approval. The board of education will meet Thursday night and is expected to name Hewitt-Trussville grad Lance Walker to the vacant AD spot.
Walker is a familiar face in Trussville. He is a Hewitt-Trussville alum and former University of Alabama golfer who has spent his entire professional career working in the UA athletic department, most recently as Assistant Director, Athletic Student Services.
Since leaving Trussville, Walker has spent the last 15 years in Tuscaloosa. From 2001-05, he was a member of the university’s golf team while earning a communications degree. He then added a Master’s degree in sports management in 2006.
