Because Sept. 11 is a day in which many Americans remember the sacrifices of those who gave their lives to save others, both as part of the heroic efforts to save lives on Sept. 11, 2001 and overseas as part of the War of Terrorism, Marco’s Pizza has chosen today as a day to give back.
All day today, all seven Birmingham-area Marco’s Pizza restaurants will donate 15 percent of its sales to Three Hots and a Cot, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to combating Veteran Homelessness.
Darryl Daniel, the operator of the Marco’s Pizza on Main Street in Trussville, said the event is special to him because he has a son-in-law , U.S. Army Capt. Matt Dudley, is currently deployed overseas in Qatar,
“I am proud to be able to be part of an event that helps to meet the needs of veterans who are homeless and struggling,” Daniel said.
