MONTEVALLO — Governor Kay Ivey visited American Village in Montevallo Saturday to honor Alabama veterans, AL.com reports.
Ivey, whose father was a World War II veteran, spoke at several events at American Village, declaring that “Alabamians are steadfast in our support of the military… Alabama’s bond with the military is unbroken and remains strong.”
Ivey presented certificates of recognition to 18 World War II veterans and later laid a wreath remembering veterans “who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
“We owe them all a debt of gratitude,” she said.
