GADSDEN — A BirminghamWatch report published Saturday evening features interviews with friends of Leigh Corfman, who accused Republican Senate Candidate Roy Moore of initiating sexual contact with her when she was 14 and he was 32.
One family friend of Corfman’s, Henrietta Speaks, argued that this was not a partisan political move: “They are not dishonest people. They are not attention seekers. They are Republicans,” she said.
Richard Hagedorn has known Corfman for over 25 years and said that she had a “visceral reaction” whenever Moore was mentioned.
“She never would go into great detail, because I could tell it was uncomfortable for her, and I just didn’t want to pry,” Hagedorn said. “But I could tell something was up.”
