ARGO —The Argo City Council approved the purchase of two new Ford Police Interceptor AWD utility vehicles for the town’s police department during Monday’s meeting. The vehicles are part of an effort to replace the department’s two aging Crown Victorias.
Police Chief James Downing shared the state awarded bid from Stivers Ford Lincoln in Montgomery with the council outlining the vehicle’s specifications and equipment features. The city will pay ,415 for the two cars.
In other matters, the council:
— Approved the minutes from Oct. 23 Council Meeting;
— Approved the budget meeting minutes from Oct. 16, 17, 19, 25, Nov. 3, 11;
— Tabled the approval of the budget for fiscal 2017-2018 until Nov. 27;
— Tabled the status of the signal and camera for Hwy. 11;
— Approved city employee holiday observance for city hall to be closed on Dec. 26; and
— Approved city hall to be closed for two hours on Dec. 15 for a city-wide Christmas luncheon. If anyone wants to attend, please bring a covered dish.
The next council meeting is scheduled Nov. 27.
