OAKVILLE — The Hewitt-Trussville girls’ and boys’ cross country teams finished in eighth and ninth place respectively at the AHSAA state championship meet at Oakville Saturday.
The Hewitt girls finished in eighth out of 12 teams.
They were led by Sydney Hall, who finished in 36th out of 138 runners with a time of 19:55.91.
Right behind her was Amelia Brady in 37th with a time of 19:56.26.
The rest of the top seven finishers for the Huskies were Helena Steen (71, 21:16.46), Sophia Knox (75, 21:23.72), Sarah Cannon (85, 21:40.28) Ariana White (108, 23:39.56) and Laura Claire Bollinger (117, 23:07.95)
The Hewitt-Trussville boys came in ninth out of 13 teams. They were led by Aaron Himes, who finished in 24th out of 142 runners with a time of 16:30.93.
Next was Josh Jenkins in 30th at 16:35.05.
Rounding out the top seven finishers for the Huskies were Thomas Wolfe (44, 16:53.93), Micah Smith (86, 17:33.13), Nathan Knox (95, 17:40.56), Aaron Dykes (98, 17:45.70 74) and Jacob Jones (100, 17:47.46).
