MOUNTAIN BROOK — A 6-year-old girl was accidentally shot by a sibling Sunday and then was involved in a car accident on the way to the hospital, according to WVTM 13.
According to WIAT 42 the girl is in stable condition after being transported to Children’s hospital, the Birmingham Police Department confirms.
BPD and Mountain Brook police are investigating the accident, which occurred around 2 p.m. at Montclair Road and Gaywood Circle. BPD said the accidental shooting occurred on the east side of Birmingham, per the girl’s family.
It is unknown at this time how the shooting occurred. No further details are available at this time.
