KERN COUNTY, CALIF. –Charles Manson, one of the most notorious criminals of the 20th century has died in prison. He was 83.
Manson and his cult of followers were known for their part in what became known as the Tate-LaBianca murders. Actress Sharon Tate was among five victims murdered by Manson’s followers on one night and Rosemary and Leno LaBianca were murdered by the group on the following night.
Manson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, Charles “Tex” Watson, and Leslie Van Houten were convicted of the murders which took place at the direction of Manson.
