BIRMINGHAM — A Birmingham woman went to a driver’s license exam office to obtain a new license Tuesday when it was discovered she had an active arrest warrant, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Raquel Welch, 34, was placed under arrest at approximately 10:15 a.m. Tuesday after the active warrant was discovered.
Welch then escaped the scene and fled by vehicle. Alabama State Troopers pursued Welch, who later stopped and was taken into custody without incident. Welch has been charged with Escape and Attempting to Elude Officers. Nothing further is available as Troopers continue to investigate
