CENTER POINT — A robbery attempt at Clean Cuts Barber Shop in the 1600 block of Center Point Parkway ended with a Jefferson County Barber Commission inspector getting shot in the arm Wednesday, according to multiple reports.
Just before 4:45 this evening deputies were called to a barber shop in the 1600 block of Center Point Parkway to investigate a report of a robbery and shooting, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The adult male victim called to report that he had been robbed and shot at the location. The suspect fled on foot prior to the arrival of deputies.
Once on scene, deputies located the victim and identified him as an off-duty Barber Commission Inspector. He was suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to multiple reports the initial call was that a deputy had been shot, but it was later found to be the barber shop inspector.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing black pants and a blue shirt.
The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect remains at large.
