TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department is looking for a suspect who committed an armed robbery at the shopping center on Trussville Crossing Parkway Friday, according to Detective Mike Bruce with TPD.
The suspect, who is a black male of unknown age, was inside Marshalls and appeared to be shoplifting or attempting to commit the act Friday night.
Around 6:55 p.m. the suspect walked outside of the store and initiated an armed robbery by putting a gun to the head of a woman who was exiting her car in the parking lot.
The suspect stole a gun that belonged to the victim. After the robbery the suspect appeared to get into the passenger side of a silver Crown Victoria before the vehicle left the scene.
“The silver Crown Victoria has a sunroof, which is pretty unique for those vehicles,” Detective Bruce said.
Detective Bruce said TPD does have a lead on the suspect.
Trussville police were able to confirm the actions of the suspect based on surveillance video evidence.
