Starting with a pair of four-star quarterbacks (yep, it’s a tie, but not a copout), a state championship coach, a pair of defensive linemen that dominated their opponents up front — one leading his team to a state title, the other leading his team to five shutouts and picking up
Alabama and Auburn offers as a junior. There’s a running back headed to Yale who racked up just shy of 1,000 yards rushing and
topped 1,000 receiving.
There’s the state’s top wide receiver in the Class of 2020, the No. 2 tackle in the country in the
2019 class, and on and on.
The team is made up of a bunch of Division I talents, and a bunch of kids who were simply just
great high school players.
Area high school sports fans were lucky to see these youngsters under the Friday night lights this season — and a lot of them will be back next fall.
