HOOVER –A Hoover City Schools bus driver has been charged with DUI following a crash on Wednesday.
“Shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Alabama State Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash involving a Hoover City School bus,” Corporal Steve Smith said.
The crash occurred on the Acton Road northbound exit ramp of Interstate 459.
Troopers identified Mark Pierce as the bus driver. According to Smith, Pierce’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was .15, which is almost four times the legal limit for someone operating a school bus which is .04.
There were no children on board at the time of the crash. The driver of the bus was determined to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, according to Smith.
