The Pinson Valley High School basketball teams hosted crosstown foe Hewitt-Trussville on Tuesday night and came away with a split.
The Lady Indians fell to the Lady Huskies, 70-39. The boys team earned the win, though, knocking off Hewitt-Trussville, 99-83. In the win, Colby Jones poured in 31 points and five rebounds. Geordon Pollard had 19 points and six boards, while Orion Morris had a double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Kewaski Jackson had 10 points and seven assists, and LiAllen Dailey also notched a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards.
Pinson Valley wrapped up area play with a trip to Gardendale on Thursday. The Lady Indians finished area play with a 3-3 after a 41-27 win on the night. Janiaya Mintze led the way with 14 points and Courtney Whatley contributed 13 points. The boys cruised to a 76-42 victory to ca
off a perfect 6-0 run in area action, behind 21 points, seven rebounds and four steals from Jones. Morris had 14 points, and Pollard finished with 10 points and six boards.
This week, the Indians finish up the regular season with games at home against Midfield on Monday and Thompson on Thursday, before a road trip to Fairfield on Friday.
