In 2017, Sylvester Poole was shot to death in his truck on the 1500 block of Avenue F in Birmingham. He was pronounced dead on the scene after officers arrived. Witnesses said that a man was seen getting out of Poole’s truck just after he was shot. The man, alleged to be Burton, then walked down the street.
Police believe that the motive for the shooting was robbery. Two unrelated shootings took place that day, according to the report.
Burton is being held without bond.
