BIRMINGHAM –Birmingham police are investigating after responding to a shooting call on Sunday in the 1700 block of Avenue D. in Ensley. Officers found a deceased victim in his 50’s. No arrests have been made at this time.
It is the fourth homicide in three days in what has been a deadly weekend in Birmingham.
Saturday, officers responded to a shooting in a park near the 2000 block of 28th Street. A male victim was taken to the hospital where he died from his wounds. A person has been detained in the incident.
Another shooting into a dwelling was reported about two blocks away, not no one was injured. Police say the two incidents are related.
On Friday, a 17-year-old male, identified as Michael Lee, was found dead at a Fairfield apartment complex in the 6700 block of Terrance Court, but they believe he was shot at another location and brought to the apartments.
Police believe the shooting occurred during an exchange of gunfire between two vehicles at Birmingham’s McAlpine Park, Carol Robinson reported.
The teen was then brought to Fairfield in a white Chevrolet, which was stopped by police who recognized the description of the vehicle from the earlier shooting.
No suspects have been charged in the shooting.
Earlier Friday, police said a man was shot in the head and found in the backyard of an Ensley home. There have been no arrests in that shooting.
