A teenage girl in northeast Birmingham was injured when an unidentified person opened fire into her home, according to a report by Carol Robinson. The shooting occurred on early Wednesday morning.
The 16-year old girl was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after the shooting happened at her residence on the 4900 block of Brittain Street in Birmingham. The bullets entered her home and grazed her in the face. No suspects have been identified by police.
Birmingham police continue to investigate the incident.
In another shooting that occurred on Tuesday night, Terrence Tomez Turner, 22, was shot at the 4900 block of Farrell Avenue in Fairfield. According to Robinson, he is the 15th homicide in Jefferson County this year.
At around 9:08 p.m. on Tuesday night, police and firefighters in Fairfield responded to a report of a shooting. They discovered Turner in a vehicle with multiple gunshots wounds at the scene. Turner was taken to UAB Hospital where he passed away on early Wednesday morning.
No suspects have been identified. Police continue to investigate.
