BRIGHTON – A Brighton man has been arrested after officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a month long investigation into drug sales in western Jefferson County.
Today a warrant was issued to Pierre Dwonkenis Brown, 21. He has been charged with trafficking heroin, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
“As part of Sheriff Mike Hale’s commitment to keep your neighborhoods and communities safe narcotics investigators executed a search warrant for drugs this morning at a residence in the 100 block of Brighton Avenue in Brighton,” JCSO stated.
While searching Brown’s residence, deputies discovered and seized 28 grams of heroin, one pound of marijuana, prescription narcotics, four handguns, four rifles, and cash. According to JCSO, the street value of the drugs was estimated to be $6,600. Two of the rifles may have been stolen from owners in Clanton and Irondale.
Brown is being held at Jefferson County Jail without bond. Federal firearms charges may be added as the case is reviewed.
