BIRMINGHAM – Birmingham’s 13th homicide took place outside of a store in northern Birmingham on Sunday night, according to Carol Robinson.
Reginald Brown, 50, was killed by an unidentified person at around 11:30 p.m. outside of Omar Discount Store on 12th Court North in Birmingham. Police learned that he pulled up to the store and left the vehicle to go inside. When he walked out, he reentered the vehicle before he was approached by a person dressed in all black clothing.
The suspect then opened the car door and an altercation began. According to the report, the suspect drew a revolver from a pocket and shot Brown twice. Afterwards, he fled the scene on foot.
Police from Birmingham’s north precinct arrived on scene and found Brown inside the car. He was pronounced dead on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service. Police later learned that the car was reported stolen during a robbery that took place in December 2017.
Police continue to investigate.
