UPDATE: Media outlets are now reporting that three suspects are in custody while one remains at large.
FAIRFIELD – A shootout took place today at Western Hills Mall in Fairfield has resulted in the homicide of a store manager, according to Carol Robinson. The manager was caught in the exchange of gunfire between two groups.
Another person was injured at the scene when he was grazed in the head with a bullet as the shootout progress.
Police have caught one suspect on Arkadelphia Road after a vehicle pursuit, but others have fled the scene are being searched for. Police are using search dogs near Birmingham-Southern College.
It is not known what caused the shootout.
