TRUSSVILLE –According to the Alabama Department of Transportation, motorists can expect lane closures in Trussville along Interstates 59 and 459 this week. Seeking alternative routes during the work is recommended.
Weather permitting, on Tuesday, February 20 at 9 a.m., ALDOT will perform bridge inspections on the I-59/I-459 interchange ramps in Trussville as follows:
This inspection will require the outside (right) lane and shoulder to be closed in the work area. Following completion of work on the I-459 northbound ramp to I-59 southbound, work will continue on the I-59 southbound ramp to I-459 southbound in a similar manner.
All travel lanes will be reopened to traffic no later than 3 p.m.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival and departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
